I cant remember all the unit ID's but I know Logs is "20" and I think 59 Cdo was "16"

If anyone knows where you can get the stickers from give me a heads up as one would look wazzer on my mortar mug.

Whilst we are on the subject of bone requests does anyone know where one can obtain for cash or favours a Royal Navy "royal marines unit" cap tally, unused? Im going down memory lane, initially it was mammary lane and imagine my surprise when the mrs smacked me in the gob in Tescos.

Could be 40 Cdo painted by a dyslexic sign writer.
Doc,I've learned never to let a Matelot see a Royal Marines Unit,it only leads to feelings of inadequacy.

My old mob of course, RAF Regiment.
A vertical blue/red TRF is the RAF. As opposed to the horizontal blue/red/blue TRF of the houshold divison (both cavalry and foot guards)
And I'm assuming mind you that a patrol of this nature in an RAF vehicle would be executed by RAF Regt personnel.
It is possible I suppsoe, but highly unlikely that it's a penguin patrol.

The 9 can't be 9 Sqn because there is no 9 Sqn RAF Regt.

The 9 might be the wing or group the Regt sqn is attached to.

Then again that might not be a proper TRF, it might just be a vehicle designation plate, i.e Vehicle 9, RAF.

I know we had those on landies when I was in, so we didn't have to bother with learning long complicated registration numbers!

Sorry Doc, you said that earlier but I thought it was a question rather than a statement. Same TRF colours as the RAF then. The blue'll be a bit darker on the RM plate though.

I stand corrected :D

To the dock, indeed CLRRM is a two zero on the red and blue trf. Not sure about 59, look at you funny if you still have sleeves on your jumpers....odd bunch!

couldnt tell you who '9' is though, wouldnt even know where to get a list from!

Hi Stever, I didn't notice it was you asking this morning when I replied I just went straight to the picture. But now I know it's you I bet you were asking for the same reason I gave the answer I did i.e. the vertical divided blue/red TRF of the RAF.

The thin pale blue stripe between the blue & the red on the RAF TRF was always black from mud, rain and asphalt after 5 minutes in use on a vehicle anyway, which is why it was never really noticeable and why I forgot about it!
