Qualifications/Skills you gain in the Para's?

Post by Arran »

Hey guys i was wondering what sort of qualifications and skills you pick up in the paras. Oviously skills wise i know you learn weapon handling and survival skills etc, , I have heard you can get NVQ's and similar stuff while in there, but if you could tell me some of the stuff you can pick up i would really like to know thanks...

You definitely do an NVQ whilst going through Basic Training but I can't actually remember what it is in.

You also get a grant every year whilst in the Army to use to put towards any educational courses you may wish to do.

Not the most informative post I know, but every little helps or so Tesco keep telling us

I think you can use it for anything so long as you can prove it's a legitimate course. So for example if you wanted to do a foreign language course you could use your grant to put towards the cost of the course.

To be honest I wasn't paying much attention when we got the talk on it all I was too tired to listen at the time which is probably why I can only remember the basics!
