Falklands ORBATs

Post by Imshi-Yallah »

Does anyone know where or how I can find out what the platoon and section ORBATS for Infantry battalions would have been in the Falklands war?

Hi there, The excellent 'Operation Corporate' by Martin Middlebrook has a complete Task Force ORBAT and roll of honour in the appendicies.

An indispensible book for those wanting to learn more about the war covering air, sea and land from start to finish including a full explanation of the Belgrano incident which shows the Argentinians were warned about the possibility of attack and why it was absolutely necessary.

There is a telling quote from Plato at the start of the book - "Only the dead have seen the end of war".

42th and 45th Commando?

42 and 45 i think you mean, pronounced four two and four five NOT forty two or forty five.
