Stand corrected, looks like it's true. I'm just intrigued as to whether 3 PARA going out is a new plan. All I've heard over the last year either through the company or up in Catterick is that we're providing men for 2 PARA.

Well they've know since at least the beginning of this year so can't be very new to the plans really. It's certainly not been any kind of secret up at Catterick as all the Joes knew about it.

I'm suprised I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, given that it's quite a big deal for the Reg with all four battalions being out there at the same time. It's probably been in the Journal's, but I haven't seen this years yet.

The 1 Para blokes going on a cycle; are the biking all the way there from UK or just using them in theatre? Will they all have an individual cycle or will they be paired up on tandems?

I am going to catterick in january. If I were too pass first time round(certainly statistically unlikely!) then that would mean I would finish in July/August. Would I be able to go to Afghanistan as the regiment would be one or two months away from ending the tour?

Yep, they'll probably need BCRs by then, unfortunately. I wouldn't worry about missing the boat too much anyway mate, you will probably be going back over there within 18 months.
