Did anybody else have or is having second thoughts about their decison to join the Army?
It's funny, speaking personally, how jacked I was at first but now that I am here in the process all those other opportunities like University seem to always be in the back of my mind. It is an odd experience really. Maybe it is just the pressure of everything all at once.
I am not saying that I am not going to join the Army, I was just curious about the experiences of others.
Thanks.

I was never interestered in the army in my younger years untill i finished college and realised how shite office work and computing environments reeally were, after that i was always fully 100% committed to joining up.
I was told if your not 100% up for it then dont do it, theres a greater chance of you dropping out, wasting not just your time but the time and money of the British forces.
And now im back in the same shite computing environment
Oh the fun!

Yeah see those are my thoughts exactly. Some days I am jacked to get right at it, and others I think maybe I should have stuck with the University.
I spent a lot of money to come here, so you hate not to go through with it. But then I think if I am not totally committed, than like you say maybe it is just a waste of everyone's time where I would be taking resources away from somebody who is 100%. Then again, maybe it is just the pressure of everything coming at once like I said before. I will mull it over more and see where the process takes me. I have a place here in Sheffield for two months forsure, so I will take the BARB talk to my recruiter some more and see where it all leaves me.
Anybody else have any thoughts/advice?

On another note, why not just give it a go! You have an option to leave anyway (30 days into BT i think). If you like it hey it go for it, if not you've not lost anything and you can go do uni or whatever! You don't wanna be thinking in time to come 'What if' etc.
Even though regimental life is so very different from basic training you can still enjoy the experience and ya never know you might really like it and become a fully trained soldier in whatever trade you want to do. Hell i loved BT.

I think my thought now is, not so much not wanting to do the Army, but more the route I am taking into it. I did University for awhile and I think that if I had just finished it, or went to finish it, I could apply as an officer. I've heard they have a higher quality of life in terms of facilities and living conditions and wonder if that route would be better as I want to get married and have a family one day.
