Application process time

Post by Neil T »

Hello all,

Apologies if this has been posted before, but does anybody know what the rough time for the application process would be for the RAF Police?

I realise that I may be asking the proverbial "how long is a piece of string", but if anybody could provide any advice, I'd be most grateful.

Cheers,

Neil

Generally applications for the forces take between 3-6 months depending on whether there are any delays along the way.

However, even once your application has been accepted and you have been offered the job the time it takes to start your basic training varies quite a bit from trade to trade depending on how many places there are availiable for the specific job you wish to do.

So to sum up, yeah erm how long was that piece of string again???

But seriously though, the guys at your AFCO should have a pretty good idea of the kind of time frame you're looking at and if they don't then just ask them can they try and find out for you most of the guys/girls at the AFCO's are more than willing to help you out.

General rule, going on my own experience and that of others with whom I joined up, about a year, from first application form to starting basic training.
Although of course it won't be the same for everyone!
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

and it entirely depends on the trade you are applying for, whether they are urgently required etc.

Thanks guys, I kind of thought as much!

I'm going to the AFCO this afternoon, so I'll make sure that the application time is discussed.

Cheers,
