Not a very fun place to be normally because it is in the middle of nowhere.

I'm in N. CA, but I grew up in the So. Cal desert SE of you...in the true middle of nowhere. I've no desire to move back to the dust, and the heat, and the dust...did I mention dust?

You are correct on location. The one saving grace was the pool that had to accomodate all of us.
We did have a couple of those little dust devils winds every now and then but no worries.
