Gurkha VC Holder banned from Britain

Post by Murphy »

I make no apologies for pinching this thread from arrse.

The treatment of this gentleman, Tul Bahadur Pun, a holder of the Victoria Cross, is absolutely disgusting. Read the story at the attached link:-

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/a ... ge_id=1811

There is a petition to Tony B Liar and his cronies on this link:-

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/gurkhas-rights/

I have already signed this petition and I believe that any support that could be given by serving and former members of the Armed Forces can only help, that is, unless you think other immigrants are more deserving..........

it was on the radio last week, I listened to it for 2 hours on the BBC 5 and over 2 hours not one caller knew what the government was playing at.

This is getting silly now.

This sh*t grips me. We allow thousands of immigrants annualy who dont have a clue about Britain, and we deny this soldier who served Queen and Country and was awarded the highest military award for BRAVERY.

Perhaps we should put this to Peter Tatchell and see if we can get him to help the cause. :P

H, I have a problem with these petitions, they don't recognise my post code, anyway anybody that has served with this country should be allowed to reside here. I don't care what they are, but the wee men deserve a special mention.

I think that all Gurkhas should be allowed to reside in the UK once they've finished their contracts if they want to, not least because of the fact they've earned that right but it would also be a nice way to show our appreciation for their service.

I just find myself wondering what kind of idiot reads a visa application which states 18 years service in the British Army, numerous medals awarded fro bravery including the Victoria Cross and then turns round and says "hmm can't see any links to the UK there"

The person who made the decision should be sacked for incompetence.

Good call. My sentiments exactly!

When the guy's middle name means "brave one" and he's a VC winner in the service of the Crown, he should have been a shoe-in!

Some desk jockey needs to good slap!

Now I picked up some thing on one of the news bulletins on this gentleman. It was said that the British Army had taken away his VC for safe keeping and it is now in a museum in Britain. Now had he sold that medal at auction he would have probably got £500k for it and would have lived like a Prince in Nepal and would not have needed to leave his native land.
