Uniform to weddings?
They're probably not ready if Dave's a Nod - don't you only get the Jacket towards the end - I s'pose to save wasting cloth and time. Still, lovats, stone shirt and woolly pully will get the chicks just as moist. Dig out Dave, you've earned it all so far.
Hope you've had a good Christmas Si.

Sorry, Si,
There is only one thing to wear at weddings and that is full blues. It is a sign of disrespect to wear anything less . Let's face it the Bride, Groom, Best Man etc. ( which could also be the said Royal Marine.!!) have got dressed up in their finery and you want the Royal to turn up in second best?
Also, if you are wearing your "best blues" the only headress to wear is the White Cap! Or has that been abolished now?
As for wearing the Green Beret with blues. It just looks f£$%&*g stupid and out of place.
Si, the only thing that made sense to me was "that you don't get pissed whilst wearing them!" (I'm not sure that I ever followed that code, but I wish I had.)
Also - If he was a nod he wouldn't have any medals and wouldn't probably have been awarded his green lid.
Si, I'm sorry to be so negative, but the Corps should on all occasions be displayed in a good light! And that means wearing full blues at weddings.
I did for my Bro-in Law even though he was a matelot. However I had been in the Corps for about 10 years by then. But even so, the only rig for weddings is Full Blues with the White Cap!!

Former RM of 23 years.
When we got married the wedding party groom and best man wore blues and white caps and the guests wore lovats so not to detract from the wedding party.
But i do agree that blues looks terrible with a green lid.

Friendship is like peeing in your pants,
everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth!!

The only time you are allowed to wear your beret with Blues is at KSPO. All other times it must be peaked cap or helmet WP if issued.
Nothing disrespectful about wearing lovats. By far the easier option. Jacket off and into half Lovats as the day wears on.
Blues are a right royal pain in the arse to wear.....anywhere!!
