Start getting fit NOW! Fitness is something thats going to take time and patience. Contrary to popular opinion, i would avoid doing any sports because of the risk of injury. Start running, cycling, swimming and going to the gym for some light weight sessions and you will be laughing by the time you join the army next year. The army loves fitness, especially in the paras and infantry in general so the fitter you are, the more they will like you and the further you will go.
If you and your mate apply to join the army at the same time and both put down the same unit that you want to join, there is every chance you will be put together.

I recommend you join the Army Cadet Force, it isnt the army but the discipline is basically the same, and you'll be taught obedience and smartness also.
If you can last a year or 2 of the ACF then then army should'nt be a problem to you.

Theres alot of info on the ACF there, and you find your local detachment, many ACF members also visit www.armycadetforce.com/, in case you need any more info.

Is that your mind made up Han Combat Medic. If it is then good luck and you go for it. Dont have any regrets about not joining when younger your still very young and have a long career in front of you if you want it.
As for selling your house, why not rent it out. Make money on it and you keep it. You might find it hard to get back on the housing market. I made that mistake. But like I said good luck han

Dude, if I was you I wouldn't join the Army until you're 18. If you really want to spend a year at Harrogate banging 16 year old girls, then go ahead, but your time doesn't start until your 18th birthday. Why not get some A Levels and then join up so you can do more school one day if you want to. That is just my opinion anyway. Best of luck whatever you decide.
