Question About Insight Courses
Question About Insight Courses
Hi everyone,
I intend to join 4para this coming September after I finish my degree and get into better shape and I was wondering if anyone could give me information on the paras insight courses, specifically am I allowed to attend more than one? They look fantastic and would help keep me motivated/on track with my training but I thought you might be limited to attending only one.
Sorry about posting such a banal/trivial question!

i have just come off the insight course so i will give you a touch of info,
we did a bleep test on the first night,
the next day ... in the morning. 1.5 mile run as a group, then 1.5mile best effort ( i think it was a bit more than a mile and a half to be honest)
then we more or less got streight into the push ups, as many as possible in 2 min, then same with sit ups, then walked back into one of the camps to do as many pull ups as you can.
Later on in the afternoon we did an assault course, not too bad... but because the adrenaline was running it takes it out of you.
Last but not least on the last morning we did a log race, 1.5 mile over harsh terrain, all i can say about the log race was .... it was a

Well i have just tried to sign up for the insight course but they all seem to be full. I think the next available ones are in November and they are up in Wales.
I wanted to go on an insight course before i signed up but it seems i will most probably sign up now as i don't really want to wait til Nov.

you might aswell sign up, and still do the course, because you will not get a start date this side of christmas, the last intake is october 22nd, then january.
i thought i would make it for october but by the looks of things it will be janary for me.
oh and jaycam, we didnt do any other activities, apart from the beasting because the para who was dishing it out was bored

The Para recruiters must've got a bit annoyed with all my emails i sent them about the insight course because they have updated the dates for it
They have also changed the location names for the courses. They used to be Colchester but now they say 'Outreach Team', i presume they are still in the same place.
Yea commando-or-para i had may aswell book the course if the intake aint til next year. I now have to see whether i want to go on a 4-5 hr train journey or wait a couple weeks after and go to Colchester.
Oh and also get a part time job in the mean time whilst im waiting.

I am also booked onto the same course as yourself. Cant wait, should be a good weekend.
My mate passed RSC last week and the date he was given to start was 28th Jan so i am assuming October is full. Hopefully i'll also make that one if the AFCO can keep things going. If not i'll be doing the toughguy event in wolverhampton on that same day. Anyone fancy joining me?
