Asthma

Post by JayCam »

I had asthma when I was much younger but I havn't any effects of it for over 6 years and no attacks for about 11 years. Will this affect me joining the paras? If so, do they check up medical records or can I just keep my mouth shut and itll all be fine?

Cant beleive I havnt thought of this before, It just occured to me when I was reading a post about asthma on a running forum.

I have used the search button but cant find anything directly related to the paras and I guess it might be different since paras is so fitness heavy.

Cheers,
J.

They normally write off to your doctors to get your medical history as it has been known for people to tell lies, and if do have a medical weakness then it could show up during your training

Cheers tab.. I just found out the answer.. called an information line. If you have been clear of symptoms and treatment for a minimum of four years then you are clear but subject to further medical investigation (I guess they will put you on the treadmill with the breathing/heartrate monitor). Ive been clear for about 6 so I should be fine.

Cheers all the same, Ill know not to lie lol.
