AS LEBANON BURNS ( WHERE THE F..K IS MR BLAIR )

Post by PILOT »

 I am a simple chap yet I do believe in balance and fair play, so could somebody please tell me why the f..k we just stand and watch as a the total destruction of Lebanon takes place before our eyes.

I understand the frustration of the Israeli people who are being targetted at the moment (and hell they have suffered injustice for many years)yet their response seems so extreme. I do hope someone will at least do something to help the innocent civilians who are in the way.

Sir Winston Churchill would not have stood and watched while this happened, so where the f..k is our illustrious leader when the world needs him. (I believe that he is a useless f@#k c@#t who really ought to be replaced).

If you think it is just me who thinks this way tune into James Whale this evening or george galloway on saturdays and sundays on Talksport between 10pm and 1am, 1089-1053 am/Digital radio, channel 723 on freeview or channel 0108 on sky as he talks about this very subject.
They both talk straight.

Once upon a time there was pride and strength in Great Britain. Where the f@#k has it gone?????????????????????????????????????????????????

Because it is not our war? This is something that was signed as a peace treaty in 1948 bewteen Lebanan and Israel, however, this has been broken. We storm in and invade can do more damage than good, when the time comes we will be called upon, until then we will sit in the waters with our lovely massive harpoons, sea wolfs and anything else the RN has that will cause a big hole from miles away

Hezbollah and other extremist groups believe that Israel's existence is to blame for all their woes. Their main effort is to drive Israel's population into the sea.

I disagree with the destruction of infrastructure, particularly the runways of Beirut airport. It might as well be 1940 at Dunkirk tying to evacuate various expatriate communities at short notice.

You wouldn't believe how many people are holding Canada responsible for their plight. There are estimated to be 40,000 plus Canadian nationals awaiting evacuation. The sense of entitlement and ignorance of these people amazes even a cynic like me.

And what is a proportional response by Israel? What if Israel used suicide bombers and shot rockets indiscriminately into civilian areas like Hezbollah? What if special forces had been inserted and civilians had invariably been killed, since human shields are standard procedure?

Israel is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't. Neighbouring countries need to make a moral commitment to recognize Israel's existence before real progress can be made.

Arabs Vs Jews is what this can basically be summed as. Jews claiming Arabs had taken all their land and vice versa, since the neighbouring countries have a higher population in Arabs, I say Israel would not do so well.

By the way, George Galloway talks about as straight as a roundabout. He might like to give the impression that he's a straight-talking, honest kinda guy (as do, er, Blair & Bush...), but he uses just as much manipulative polemic and selective interpretation of facts as BlairBushCo do.

And once we've sorted out Lebanon we could nip over to Chechnya and kick out Putin's mob, after we've helped out in Azerbaijan, Abkhazia, topped Mugabe, freed the people of North Korea and.................

Don't know about the pride but the strength has been on the way down ever since Isandhlwana.

I must congratulate you on your decoration. But I have to say that I've never in my life seen anyone else, among the tens of thousands who've earned them, put GSM after their name??? Maybe I've just never noticed. :-?

And I noted on your introduction post that you've been studying psychology for a year. Yet in your book blurb you state that you're 'fully trained' [what an odd phrase for a psychologist to use  ] in Social, Behavioural, Cognitive, and Bio psychology - Oh, and also fully trained in Research in Psychology.

Well, there you go! All those years of studying for a BSc (Hons) in psychology and all I really needed was a year. What a thicko I am.

Anyway, I'm always willing to learn from those whose intellect is so superior. For example, I've always struggled with Collins and Quillian's model of conceptual hierarchies in semantic memory. I wonder whether you subscribe to their view or prefer Bruner's approach to conceptual categorization?

I'd also be interested in your views on the reliability of psychometric testing. Paul Kline reckons that a reliability of .7 is a minimum score for a good test [in test-retest reliability] if the reliability coefficients are properly derived? Do you think he's off the mark?

Rocky, Paul Kline is a gobshite  and it has to be Bruner for me mate  He`s deadly on the wing and a terrific kicker 8)

Interesting today, to see that ineffectual masturbator and UN Chief, Kofi Anal called the Israeli’s response "Disproportionate"
Fugg me, disproportionate is it! Ha. :o
Of course, it`s all the fault of those nasty Palestinian terrorists you know.
Those poor Israelis, tut tut
Apparently, they are acting in a measured, self defence sort of way
:-?

Breaking news from 'Rockmail':

The two captured Israeli soldiers were killed by an F16 strike. [or not - how would we know? ]

So now can the Israelis stop the bombardment because they've just killed their initial justification - and can the Hezbollah nutters stop shooting rockets?

Thought not!

Can somebody please explain to me why this is in anyway the start of World War 3? I've seen this mentioned on a number of internet forums, none of which provide any evidence to back up the statement.

To me is just seems that a couple of 'back-water' countries are acting out old feuds once again, it in no way has the scale of World War 1 or 2 in any shape or form.

It could in theory become WW3 if it spreads to other countries - Hizbollah have strong ties with Syria and Iran, both of those countries appreciate the fact they are attacking Israel, yet they would not do it themselves because it would provoke the US and other countries into obliterating them. Russia and China have big business ties with these countries and have a vested interest in not seeing them turned 'good'.

Galloway and any others of his like minded folk can go and rot in hell, they are worse than bush, no 2 ways about it, they manipulate facts far more than he ever does. When Bush said "The thing is, Syria needs to stop this s***" He was right, it is a fact syria supports these terrorists and would like to see Israel gone. I dont particuarly like Bush but Galloway is far worse.

As for the current conflict, Israel can't win either way. Hizbollah will never willingly return the soldiers and will never cease it's hatred of Israel. So whats it supposed to do, just sit back and hope they don't do too much damage? They shouldn't have destroyed the runway and the main road out of Lebanon but I can see why theyd do it. The civillian casualties are not Israels fault, its the terrorists fault for hiding amongst the civilians and using them as shields.

We play no part here, Israel doesn't trust us and we aren't exactly going to start negotiating with terrorists. But i do think we have enough clout to have gotten our people out of the south by now, we have an aircraft carrier out there yet we havent told the Israelies that we WILL evacuate our citizens, it would only take a matter of hours to do. Plus it's not as if Lebanon is completely innocent, its their people that elected certain Hizbollah members into government, what do they expect when things aren't completely peaceful? Lebanon needs the world to help develop an army capable of controlling these groups.

I think this will only end soon if Israel gets it's soldiers back, the US tells it to back off and NATO sends in a force to secure the border to stop millitants operating, and if needed disarm/kill them on behalf of the Lebonese PM, I feel sorry for the guy, he doesn't want them there but has no way of getting rid of them, so at the end of the day the only real short term solution is for Israel to sort it out.

But zimbabwe, that's a cause worth fighting, even if it's only changing the government.
