Hiya all,

Just wondered if anyone knows the next intake for MA's. I've gone through the application process just waiting for a start date. It's been three (maybe four) months since I completed the process. the waiting list was eight months, just wondered what peoples experiences were of the wait, time wise between getting the start date and actually starting.................

Anyway, new to the forum so hiya to everyone!!!!

Sorry Gav, I have no idea what the wait time is at the moment. When I joined, I was told I would have to wait for at least 3 months. I told them that I was available at short notice and hey presto, I got a phone call the next week asking if I could mobilise in 9 days time...I was off like a shot!

That was in 1989 and I think you have picked one of the best branches in the mob. You will work a lot more duties than most other branches, as the duty rota is obviously very specialised and the pool of available people is small, but the job is great and I think it is worth the duty rota.

If you are available at short notice, you could try letting your careers office contact know. Give them a call and ask them for an update on waiting times.

Thanks for that. Yeah they said there would be a wait. Said there was an eight month waiting list so it will be a little while yet. I've left i a little late in life. Im 26 ( ill be 27 by the time i get in) at the mo and i was a little worried about having left it till now. Wish i had gone in at 18 but it never really occured to me till now. I look about 12 anyway!!!!!!!

I don't really know the waiting list times, I went to the careers, did all my application and tests etc and joined the Andrew 2 months later.

I know the MA branch is a pain to get into fullstop, cross your fingers and good luck hun!
