changes to aptitude tests

Post by gogsy »

Hi everyone, i was at my local afco the other week ready to put my name down for the regiment but they said come back after 22nd as there is something changing with the aptitude tests, does anyone know anything about that, also i was looking on the website and it was saying gunner are urgently required so would it be a good time to get myself down to the afco to get the process going, i feel im fit enough to do it, im not as fit as i would like to be but if i keep waiting to get as fit as i can be then i would be training forever and never actually go and do it, is it a case of getting fit enough to get through the 3 days and the actual gunners course will get you to where the regiment expects. Thanks for reading this i know it went a bit long but i appreciate any replies. Great forums though

Morning gogsy, I took my Aptitude Tests last Tuesday for RAF Gunner. When I got told that I was successful the Corporal told me that I should phone up early June to arrange the next steps - medical, interview etc.
Reason I had to wait is because the way the interview is conducted has changed. The questions will now me aimed towards RAF Knowledge and NATO i.e. what does NATO stand for, when it was formed, how many countries etc.

The Apitude Tests them self are not actually changing. I was told you now take the tests and watch the presentation on the same day.

I was told that I could be starting my PGAC within 2 - 3 months.

Best of luck with your aplication and let me know how you get on. Perhaps we will be on the same PGAC.

Hello bud

I would definately apply now to do whatever you can because you are not getting in this year.

Recently had my final interview and got accepted and they said that only 1400 peaople will join but 100,000 will apply.

Just do what ever they tell you to do. It's a long process, took me a year but I start in 2 weeks. It will be worth it in the end
