Please understand one thing Jules.

I'm really fed up to the back teeth with your input. Your replies are as ever totally predictable and just what I would expect from some smug self oppionated Nonentity like yourself who takes great delight in coming onto a forum like this with just one aim. To annoy the other members.

At least there is no danger of you continuing your ancestral line as you prefer the company of your own sex.

Unfortunately, both of us were unable to continue the family tradition, due to a medical condition, from joining the 14th Airbourne Regiment
That's strange, never heard of that Regiment. Which is also strange, seeing as I am a serving Para who is quite up to scratch on his Regimental history.

Was the medical condition lack of spine?

With regard to your comment above and asking if people have read the thread; did you bother to read mine and if so, how did my point require such a strong and misguided response?
sticky Blue's post you probably didn't bother to read but quoted wrote: Julientw, are you in the mob? If not, I suggest that this is all down to the usual pi$$ taking and banter and perhaps that is why you can't see it. I have friends who are gay and they take the mick out of me but I don't say they are hetrophobic!
you wrote:I'm sorry if you think I am "pi$$ taking" but I can assure that I am not. I have been a LGBT Trade Union Official for over 14 years and I am one of the people you have to thank for the implementation of the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 and resolution for the Code of Personal Conduct, which incidentally also cover the heterosexual community. I may not be "in the mob", as you say, but I have enough people who are friends and colleagues who are, as well as my partner.

By perpetuating homophobia within the armed forces you are putting the general public in danger by letting your own personal social conditioning come before your duty. People are people after all, and I myself see myself as one member of one human race. I don't care who I upset with that statement!

If anyone needs to get off their high horses is the egotistical heterosexual males (for want of a better word) who flatter themselves thinking that every gay man fancies them. Trust me your nothing special, and who I choice to sleep with is my own business. So shove your 'old school' up your nose and come into the 21st Century.

End of subject!
The Pi$$ taking I was referring to was previously in this thread, way before you came on the scene (no pun intended). Proud to serve came in like yourself, eager to point and accuse and hasn't been back in an eternity. This is possibly due to the fact that we are not the bunch of homophobics you assume us to be. Your partner's perceived view that he could be ostracised could be wrong, it could also be right. It depends on him and his outlook and character. We had a guy come out and most of us already knew and said "Yea, we know, what's the problem?". He was shocked as he thought we would take the pi$$. At the end of the day, and when he was ready, we gently started with the mick taking but nothing that was offencive. We were walking on egg shells and he eventually turned round and asked us to stop prating around and not be so careful around him as he felt uncomfortable because he could see we were 'playing safe'. Now the ice has been melted we are all the same and he gets an almost equal amount of grief about his sexuality, dress sense (NIL), character etc etc as someone who has a big nose, body odour problems etc etc gets.
I don't give a toss who is what or where they are it so long as it doesn't compromise security or professionalism or their ability to carry out any of their duties.
And what gay man wouldn't fancy me? I'm an Adonis and the chicks are always throwing themselves at me. Please don't accuse me of perpetuating homophobia as you have in your response because you don't know me from Adam and I am nothing like what you have accused me of. You may have been talking generally but I see it as aimed at me because you have quoted me in your response. I am anything but 'Old school' as well.
If you want to encourage debate, then please do so but do not accuse me of being what you want to think I am. I have served for over 22 years and am perhaps the most tolerant person you could ever meet unless you are a druggie and then... I am anything but tolerant.
Don't be so 'defensive' and asume we are all gay bashing macho men with an agenda. My only agenda is to get to and from work and live my life without false accustations in a fair system. Please put your brush away and stop tarring.

BY locking this thread it would only give you ammunition to say that it was locked to silence you, that is the last thing on our minds...

No chronic asthma actually, brought on by infantile bronchial pneumonia, but I did get 98.6% on the aptitude test.

And we are talking WWII in Burma. My father was an officer and was demoted to a private for fighting in a bar. Although it is quite shortsighted of you as I never mentioned Paras! But hey that's pongos for ya.
Regimental History also includes Airborne (note the spelling of that word that you're so proud of, sh1t for brains) Forces you Gloid! So who's shortsighted now? And if you were so proud of his history why are you calling me a pongo? Don't tell me, 14th Airborne were a Navy unit?

Yeah, you probably got such a high mark on your aptitude test (but probably not) for giving the Recruiting Sergeant a swift one under the desk. You gimp.

There is fair and there is unfair... If I get the rough end of the stick I put it down to "Oh well, it's a personality clash / the boss is a dick / my fault / $hit happens" whereas if a coloured/gay/disabled etc has a rough end of the stick they 'assume' it is because of their gender/orientation/colour or whatever. Some people are too happy to have a card to play as and when it suits, others are happy to sit back and get on with life and point to reasons that they failed rather than excuses.

I cannot say that I am anti-gay. I have known a couple of damned good soldiers who I found out years later were gay. So what?

What I am absolutely anti, is the "gay agenda". I am sick to the bloody back teeth of bloody whiners, dripping on about "my rights"-this and "my rights"-that. If you think I'm going to settle for my taxes being paid towards benefits for same-sex couples, forget it! I'm all over my MP like a dirty shirt.

The thing of it is, is this: IT SHOULD NEVER BE AN ISSUE !!

It never was for the two lads I served with, mentioned above. They were respected soldiers. They didn't make a big deal about, they didn't flaunt their sexuality - always stuffing it into people's faces, and they sure didn't wind people up with incessant dripping.

The "gay agenda" has reached such momentum, now, that I can't even watch a damned home improvement show on TV without either the designer, or the "couple" being gay. There was even a gay chippie the other day. I tell you I am sick, sick, bloody sick of it. I am even contemplating writing to the TV channel if only to complain about disproportionate representation. If one in ten is gaym how come every one of my home improvement shows has gays on it? Bloody outrageous!

I believe their is a huge, aggressive gay agenda that is perpetuated by the likes of Hollywood and the fashion industry. If people weren't so afraid of their damned shadows these days, the agenda would never have got far as it would have been recognized for what it was in short order and shut down. As it is the squeakiest wheel is getting the oil!

Oh, well. I suppose we all serve the Queen in our own way! 8)
