Fitness Requirements

Post by Sgt.N.Caunt »

Hey guys. This is my first post. I’m new to this forum. I was just wondering about the entry requirements for officers in the Royal Marines. I have found plenty of stuff relating to the usual marine entry requirements but I have multiple people telling me officers have a harder task i.e. have farther distances to run etc.. I was wondering if anyone knew these requirements or if I’m being led on? I did enquire on the website but as I said I got the normal marine requirements but it said for officer I had to visit a recruiting office to find them out.

Cheers.

Officers run the same distance and yomp the same distance... they just have less time to do it in!

okies. i read on the RM careers site that the running stage was a 1.5miles best effort but had to be completed in under 11 min regardles. beofre i had read this i had always thought this was the army test and the RM was much longer. so its a 3miler. better get my jog on.

thanks again.

When you've done that have a trawl through the military fitness and training forum, plenty there.

I know that the thirty miler has to be done in 7 hrs rather then 8 for officers..
