Thanks for all the warm and amusing welcomes! Sorry I have not been on here much. We are getting ready to head back to the states for Christmas in a few weeks and have so much to do...not a lot of time for the internet I am afraid. It will be the first time my DD, Izzy has met her American side of the family, so DH and I are very excited!!!!
I miss the mountains, the thick dense forrests, closets for clothes, having a huge lawn (front and back) to play in, an actual house, as opposed to a flat...there are just too many things to mention. I will add that I am really starting to adjust and get used to being here. I am very happy for the chance to have this experience of living in England. We are planning on moving back to WV within the next 10 years, so I plan on making the most out of living here...seeing and experiencing as much as possible!
Thanks again for welcoming me! Don't worry, you didn't scare me off. My ex was a US Marine...been around military for over 10 years. I am used to you all by now.
Well, I found the fact that everything here seems so small in comparison to the states when I first got here, i.e bottles of pop, boxes of food, the washer/dryer, the refridgerator, cars....everything! I think the thing I miss most about back home is my family and friends. The whole state of WV would come in a close second. While I am American, I am first and foremost a West Virginian!harry hackedoff wrote:

When you come over to England you can see the truth in the statement
"two peoples seperated by a common language"
Imagine what it`s like in reverse
When we cross the pond to your side we`re stunned by the size of everthing
Ask for a medium coke and you get a five gallon bucketfull
And imagine how upset I was to find Miami Beach looks more like a whale sanctuary than Baywatch, jeez, everything is way bigger

My DH said the same thing. He couldn't figure out how one person would need to drink that much pop in one sitting. He also couldn't understand the ice thing. I am an ice fanatic! I fill my cup with ice then put my drink in. He said there is more ice than drink. Even here in the UK I always ask for ice in my cup, plus a glass of ice on the side. I believe they think I am crazy, and  I guess they would be right.harry hackedoff wrote:Imagine what it`s like in reverseWhen we cross the pond to your side we`re stunned by the size of everthing
