Foundation 24th October

Hey,

So it's finally here. Raring to go. It all seems to be happening so fast. Haven't managed to get hardly anything ready. Left preparations far too late but there you go. Got the weekend to get my new life packed into a bag.

I want to thank Jay for creating this site in the first place, all the moderators (thats you sticky ) and everyone that has helped me through the selection process. Good luck to everyone on these forums. Most people don't get such great resources as this site before training and its definately an advantage.

I'll be creating an online blog throughout training, for all interested, to see what training's really like and what kind of stuff I'm feeling throughout, hopefully leading on to my green beret. I'll try and keep the spoilers down to a minimum. I don't know whether I'm actually allowed to do this but I'm sure the mods will shed some light. I'll be posting the link on Sunday night which hopefully the mods will make a sticky post at top of forums so you can all see how its going.

Once again thanks for everything. It has all been appreciated.

Ash

Good luck though I'm sure you won't need it.

:)

There will one day be an MF troop as opposed to a troop of MFs.

Ash, I'm sure you will do fine and make it all the way. PMA is half of it and you are going to have really cold wet & dry drills. If you can make it through them; you can make it through anything by the power of PMA alone. May the force be with you
Artist loves a good passing out parade as do Sully, Si, Sneaky, Rotars, JR, Mike... in fact all of them do!

Ain't you gone yet, what are you waiting for? A kiss, some one to wave at you? Go on, bugger off! Forget going for gold, go for green 8)
All the best fella...
Drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed...

Thanks. I tend to have a good PMA. If im in pain, suffering in the cold and wet I'd rather laugh about it (obviously not on drill, can imagine the DI's face ) and get on with it. I'm not gonna lie to myself and say it's gonna be easy. I know its gonna be the toughest thing I could probably ever attempt but I'm just gonna keep a positive outlook on it.

Classic quote from my careers adviser at my local AFCO:
"All you've got to remember down there lads, when the going gets tough, is they arent allowed to kill you."
