Too many tattoos???

Post by pompeyandy »

i just filled in my application for the RM's and it says they have to be notified of any tattoos and you may get rejected if you have too many.

obviously face and neck would be rejected but i have a tattoo across my back.

anyone know how much is too much???

I think there was an article in the Daily Telegraph yesterday, when one CO who found that recruitment for his Battalion was dropping right off checked the why so many prospective soldier were not getting into the Regiment. What he found that they were being refused because of their tattoos, he had a word in some ones ear and he was soon up to strength.

As Tat's are so popular again,
I don't know how the forces can reject you for having a few.
At least these days the ink is safe :o
I have seen some horror stories from back when I had mine..
Just think about this...

Your Five-O.
Out of the Military and back in Civvy St.
Your looking for a job alongside many other less experienced people than you,Who have no ink.
Your wearing a short-sleeved shirt and the Tat's on your forearms are in plain sight.
Ifen you were the HR person interviewing you,Who would you hire?
After a while YOU don't notice them,But others do.
Do a search here bud,It has been discussed before.
It seems real trendy this side of the pond for young girls to get tat's.
If their not mistaken for hookers and killed for their pimps money,Then there's gonna be a whole bunch of old wrinkley's with tat's they regret.

Fella, dont worry about it i know loads of royal with chad tats most lads get em as soon as they pass out chad royal ones any way.

But i know blokes with em up there arms as well and legs the armed forces are hanging out for blokes providing they are not offensive and are not on your grid you will be ok.

And if you join Royal you may find yourself playing Spoof one day and loosing, resulting in a chad tat of some one elses choice in any location on your body and the lads have a hoofing imagination  i have seen some nasty tats as a result of that, (moral of the story is dont play Spoof for gash tats)

Anybody who gets a tattoo is stupid. Or are thinking very short term. Have a look at what Wholley said, earlier.
Most people who get tattoos, regret it later in life. THINK before you do it!!

In my troop in training there was a lad who had three tats on his head, he was told to grow his hair out a bit so the Adj didn't have to look at them, so I don't know how many tats are too many.
A word of warning to any wannabees though, if you have too many swallows, spiders webs and tigers clawing your arms, you may preclude yourselves from the option of special duties later on as well as looking like a twat.
Whilst I may disagree with what you say, I will fight to the death for your right to say it.
