Hi there 9901637, I lived in Dundee for 9 years before moving to New Zealand. I will be coming back in January, so if you are still there by that time then I would be happy to have a chat with you. :D

NZ is quite a nice place. It almost never rains and in eight years I have never seen it snow. It is winter at the moment and the sun is blasting down and I got sunburnt yesterday. The people here still manage to complain about the weather though. It is a nice place to live, but it lacks the culture and history that Scotland has. It would be a great place to retire. Very few people have heard of the Royal Marines here, if I had a dollar for each time I had heard "Why don't you just join the NZ army? It would be just the same." I would have quite a few dollars.

funny that, i thought it would have had a lot of rain (like back home, especially last week). still, if it is sunny a lot, it makes it even more appealing!! :)

Which island are you currently on (north or south?). Is it any different from one to another?

cheers

I am living at the top of the South Island. The sun can be nice but often it is far too hot, especially at night. The North Island is quite different from the South Island. There are a lot more people there and that is where most of the Maoris (supposed natives) live. The North Island also has a lot more crime, but nowhere near as much as Scotland. There is a lot more farming and suchlike in the South Island.
