Let's go for it PL. All those in favour say Egg Bacon Roll.
That's carried.
Pussers catering is OK in work hours, what happens when the galley and NAAFI are shut, and a hungry Nod has just finished cleaning his kit and grot....................Dutchy of course. Guaranteed good scran and the opportunity to talk to someone who is not in his troop or on course.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

El Presidente
El Prez,
Isn't the PAYD scheme mean't to be ("Open all Hours") I just wish Ronnie Barker was running it. At least we'd get a laugh. It won't of course, (be open all hours,) because the civvy contractors will think that is unsociable; therefore they have to pay their staff more money; therefore it becomes unviable; therefore it closes about 10 pm. Voila! - Dutchy is needed!!
I was before Dutchy's time, (ie circa 1959) but even then, there was a need for the service.
Sneaky
Hi all,
Just got in from 2nd night on SOD campaign petition signing, so far got about 200, not bad considering i have probably only had about 120 customers. As for Sneakys comments, he is right on the money, manys the night i have sat around till 3am waiting for the die hards, and had maybe a couple back. You make up for this when the lads have an end of course run.
But the point here is if we were to run it purely as a buisness we would close at midnight every night, as is we stay till late (0300) cause those same die hards appreciate it, and thats the service. The same service that when a night navex rolls in at 10 past 3 and tells you they "have to hand there weapons in" but will only be a few minutes, and you end up being there till the sun comes up, just because CTC operates on a different bloody time scale to the rest of the universe. Dont get me wrong its money in the till! but after the nine hours im looking forward to my pit just like anyone else.
Any how the latest is..... The new contractors are due to sign there contract shortly and they have heard all about Dutchy's and the support there getting, so they are set to play dirty! i have heard from a very reliable source that we may well be evicted (yup balliffs and S****), so if anyone sees me being carried up through the main drag handcuffed to me griddle you know whats on! Keep downloading those petitions boys!
Whats the punishment for mutiny these days, as I dare say there will be a lot of disgruntled RM's at midnight.
Its going to be a sad day if it comes off. The passing on of the business never saw a falter in quality of taste bud churning produce. Mines a mush burger, well three anyway!
Best you get your old man in his blues serving for a while, but keep him from throwing a right at them if they do come calling too much damage limitation if that happened.
Batten down the hathes and man the guns.
Mind you young Dutchy a career in web design might be on the cards then you always liked computers if I remember.

When the Squad started training for the Royal tournament, the majority of the working day was spent on the top field,it was hard work, requiring a lot of concentration and the DI.s patience and sense of humour was surely tested.Above all the other thing that kept the squad going was the welcome sight of Dutchy'svan at stand-easy.Throughout the training at CTCRM he looked after the requirements of the inner man,and on our last day we had everything on the house.
That little snippet was from official sources. So 137,138 and 139 Troops and 258 and 259 Junior Troops wherever you are get off your asses and sign the petition.Aye Jr

Thanks eveyone for your support its much appreciated. As for Ratso, the old mans 64 now and rarely throws more than a ball for the dogs, though i know he still has it in him, And one for me if this B******* comes off on my watch.
The SOD campaign does progress:- after 1 week we got about 600 "x"s on the petition. Caught one lad signing twice, and said to him " you aint signing your name again?" he said "dont be stupid i'm forging my grandmas signature". Now thats loyalty! anyhow if you havent been allready check out savedutchy.co.uk and rack us up some more support. We got 3 months left before the contract gets signed then we are toast!
Thanks again.
Dutchy
The other half emailed me and said that he'll print off some of the petition forms and pass them round the lads from 40 who are out where he is.
He'll bring them back with him in a few weeks time, and then post them down to you, mate.
There is a thread running about PAYD on an aviation site with a Military Section I am a member of, and I posted the news about Dutchy.
Here is the first comment!

I refer to the astonishing news about the privately owned and operated Burger Bar at Lympstone.
How on Earth can any faceless f*ckwit try to wipe out nearly 40 years of history on the grounds of some new Ministry of We-can't-afford-it 'Initiative'? From what I read, 'Dutchy's' has provided not only the sort of grub actually wanted by his customers at all hours of day and night, but it has also managed to cope with all the stupidity of the huggy-fluffy Food Nazis, Health and Safety and other Eurocratic bullsh*t. More than that, however, its unique contribution to the morale of a close-knit corps must also be acknowledged.
Far from facing closure by mindless bureaucrats who would appear to wish to achieve a monopoly for their pet project, Dutchy's should be considered for whatever national award is available. I am totally appalled that the MoD should attempt an unreasonable restraint of trade in order to secure a monopoly for their own contractor. Those supporting 'Dutchy' should write to their MP (as is their right), demanding that this decision is reviewed. Moreover, in an election year when all the wretched government can do is to place increasing demands on the morale of all Service personnel, the value of people such as Dutchy who are prepared to contribute actively to the welfare of our Service personnel cannot be overestimated.
I hope that the Royals fight this daft decision with all the tenacity and fighting spirit for which they are justly renowned.
Later edited to add: The constituency MP for Lympstone (East Devon) is Mr Hugo Swire MP (Conservative). His website is http://www.hugoswire.org.uk/ ; this also includes contact details.
News of Dutchy's campaign is beginning to spread, and it's not only Royal that thinks it's a daft decision!

It looks as if at least one of the other services is getting around the 'no competition' rule for PAYD according to this latest post on the another forum. It may be worth Dutchy checking this out for future use!

I do not have any knowledge of the Marines and how they are introducing PAYD but in the RAF there is choice. For instance, at RAF Halton, Peg's (an evening kebab wagon type facility) is being allowed to stay.
