I’m kind of with you there, Del.
I really did enjoy the program, and I am looking forward to next week’s episode. I’m very interested to see the conclusion, and to see if any of the ‘recruits’ change their way of life as a result.
But, the program is completely for entertainment value rather than to give a realistic account of 1950’s training. It is sort of making a mockery of the military.
It is entertaining to watch, especially when these self-proclaimed hard men are reduced to snivelling wrecks crying for their ‘right arm’, but will the general public distinguish between what is entertainment and what is the truth? Or will it just re-enforce the opinion some have on the military being full of loutish b*st*rds….
It was only the first episode, so it’s hard to judge what will happen, I shall reserve further judgement til then!
Is anybody else hoping that when that prat Luke’s twin brother arrives, he is put in the other section? Or am I just being mean
