sleevles....who/what the slamdunkingthefunk are you

The worlds longest serving cadet? you know all these magical tricks...getting a sleeping bag in your bergan with ur feet still in it...magical!!

same if your going through a river your bergan isnt always going to stay dry...why again do they issue those dry bags to put them in...waste of MoD money really! lets all listen to you...

what happens if your rumbled...your in your sleeping bag, you jump to your bergan whilst making sure your rifle is ready, rig ready and in the middle of jumping into your bergan ( the image is amusing in its self  ) and whilst jumping in you trip and fall whilst rolling around like a sack of s**t a big nasty cadet meany comes in and goes...bang:) got ya hehehehehe..now have a drink pally old chum...

and patronising sticky...ahh how silly! :D he was only helping you out in the long run, wont stay long with your ures, sum, m8, k, 'n' all the other textage speach!

cheers, davo :drinking: :drinking: :fist:

Wow Sleevles. That is really good advice.

If only the actual Army taught recruits how to pack their Bergens properly. I suppose they'll never learn eh? They should take some heed from the Cadets, they could really learn a lot.

Are you joining the army?

Clueless, what you probably heard about ref the sleeping bag, feet inside bergen etc relates to the arctic bergen. It was waterproof, and had an extending bag inner. It was feasible to wrap your upper half in a poncho to keep dry, while placing your feet and legs inside the bergen while in your slug. I think this was only intended for use with casualties, as where do you put your spare kit? :o

Our sleeping bag was a light weight blanket and a Pancho.

We didn't have sleeping bags, we had to remove all our clothes, roll ourselves in leaves and fall asleep within 3 minutes, otherwise it was back on watch. Wellard.
