Peter Mandleson
Do you think that Peter Mandleson is the correct choice as Britains European Commissioner?. Do you think that he should have a third chance of a top job after being forced out of his last two jobs as Cabinet Minister. Do you think that this is cronyism at it's very worst.
Thought you typed in something else there !!!!!PongoLogs wrote: In the space of a week the houses on both sides were burgled!

Mandelson should not be considered for a post of latrine scrubber. His new position is a typical example of Blairs opinion of himself. "I can do no wrong".
The fact that we are sending a homosexual pervert to represent this nation in Europe is a disgrace.
I am no fan of the EU and would prefer to see us out of it all together so sending this self opinionated, arogant, arse licking, sycophantic, sleeze ball adds insult to injury.
We'd be better off sending the Hartlepool Monkey.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh BUT .... The best is that his (Many) Brazilian rent Boy is tagging along as his Bone partner for who 'Many' get a huge allowance for.
Not to worry my mate Neil Kinnock will keep a close eye on them as he is chief commissioner for FRAUD for the EC... He has spent Millions and has yet to produce one dossier on the subject... though he has two large offices one in Brussels and one in Strasbourg , each with its own large set of staff. He has also just bought a large office block on the Eu's behalf that will not be occupied for another umpteen years... Oh ....He and Glynis (a Townie of mine) are well set for their retirement of an estimated 3.5million EACH !
Just goes to show who its best to be friends with...Don't IT

To any of you rational thinking members
I have never really understood why many people do not like Peter Mandelson (even members of his own party) after all he helped labour get re-elected.
Ok there was the scandal a few years ago, he borrowed some money to buy his house in London and he resigned but he didn't steal the money so why the controversy ?
I wonder of you can shed some objective view on this
Thanks

Marina, he was sacked the first time and resigned the second time. Most people despise him because they find him dispicable. He is the cheif engineer of "New Labour" and as such has betrayed the so called working classes. He is a champagne socialist who is only concerned with furthering his own career. He bears collective responsibility for the state this nation is in. If he was not Blairs friend he would not be anywhere, nor for that matter would Blair be where he is. That is a good enough reason for most of us to dislike the man, his morals and his policies.
Keep the faith.

Just about every opinion poll denigrates both Blair and Mandelson, personally I have no time for them either, but there are millions out there that think the sunshines out of their proverbials!
I think the next election will be a pretty close run thing with a three way split, Lab/LibDems/Tories and I wouldn't mind betting that Blair will edge it just but of course with no overall majority.
If that were to happen that would not be a bad thing for the UK as then no one party can act in a dictorial manner without the agreement of second party involvement. Decisions are being made currently without the concensus of the British Electorate being actively involved, i.e., The signing up of the UK into the EU constitution has never appeared in the Labour Manifesto.
