My home town is Colchester so it was good to see 16AA got such a welcome home.
Drums Beating,Banners Flying and Bayonets Fixed.
Saw many faces in the crowd who are known to me.
Just sorry I could not be there.

Re: Welcome Home
I can't recall them getting the Freedom of the town and they should not march with fixed bayonets through the town unless they have been awarded that honour. Lets face it they have only been there about ten years

Re: Welcome Home
we got it in 2008 while in afghan and did the first freedom march in 2009 where one of my number 2 buttons pooped off while marching and hit a civvie in the face hehehe plus obviously as you are all aware paras aint exactly renowned for the drill skill which was funny watching 2 and 3 para all quite hungover tring to keep in step with each other and trying to hear the vommands from 30 ranks in front with the crowd shouting while laughing at each othe then all of a sudden everyone just stops and its like a 100 car pile up on the m62 aaahhh good times
think we shoul leave that sort of thing for the "other" regiments
