matt_c wrote:Another thing (sorry about all the questions) were they strict on how press ups and sit ups are performed, did your elbows have to be tight to your sides when doing press ups and did your arms have to be crossed across your chest when performing sit ups, the marines have a PRMC which is apparently equally as gruelling and tough and they are apparently really particular on how press ups and sit ups should be performed
Cheers for all the previous posts they’ve cleared up a lot of bullshit
:D
for pressups you have to start on the floor and for every rep you have to get your chest down to the floor or its not counted, don't worry about your arms just do what you find comfortable, don't tuck your sides in just because the marines do it  , situps you have your arms crossed over your chest, your arms must remain motionless throughout the excersise or the PTI will shout at you! these are both very basic tests, you shouldn't have problems with these mate.

Sure it will be like the one you have to do at ADSC. Just talk about yourself, family, why you want to join etc
"Si vis pacem, para bellum"
("If you want peace, prepare for war!")

ADSC: Passed 07/07/09
Depot PARA: 18/10/09

best of luck mate  give 'em hell!

the icebreaker as gpw2009 says is just 3 mins blabbing on about yourself, your life and most importantly why you want to join the reg.

i think we got about 30 seconds rest, then straight into it, the best way to train for it i guess is running the last 1.5 miles as fast as you can on every run you do without rest.

I presumed with having met the standards at ADSC then the time wouldn't be as crucial this time around, will give it my all both times either way.
