London Marathon 2008

Post by goldie ex rmp »

Any other old fools on here doing this run in April?

My mind tells me I'm 21 but my heart and lungs as well as split times tell me that I'm realy 41 but so far i have raised about £1300 for a Leaukemia Charity so it has to be done.

Nice one Goldie, I'm hoping to run the Copenhagen Marathon this year. It'll be my first, so I can't imagine I'll be getting a record breaking time either.

Don't we all! Although I wouldn't mind a crack at Dani.....

Back to topic- good luck with your marathon, how confident are you with beating the 4 hour mark?

I'm proud of 4.17.
I would need EPO and rocketfuel to get under 4 hours...

It's the longest 4.17 in my life.
Good luck to you all... :D

Marching is more my thing.
100k in 20.37h...Deathmarch in Jutland, took me 3 hours to get boots of my feet... :o

Nijmegen is also a nice little walk where you meet soldiers from all over the world.

I did 4.06 in 2004 so if i train hard i may beat it, but if I'm honest I'm a lazy trainer which will be my downfall if i hit the wall at 16 miles as id did on my first one in 2000.

This will be my 3rd London and 4.06 was in 2004 but i got 4.32 in 2000 so it looks like as i get oldewr i get faster, best i get my pumps on!
