Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, 1 month 3 weeks until I start training as a pioneer, having second thoughts about the career I chose though.

Ok, I've done some research on operational tours to Iraq, Afghanistan and so forth ... and I've found that after a 6-7 months tour you'll have roughly about 18 months before your next tour, the reason for this post is to see if my findings are right.

May I ask what reg are you going mate, I'm off on a training week with the Pioneers on the 10th of March to see if I'd like it or not instead of running straight into the great unknown. Anyone here know much about the Pioneers? Tips and information would be nice.

If in doubt
If in doubt mate best thing to do is go to your local careers office, or if your currently in the force speak to an officer. Joining the SAS/SBS is normally base on your determination and a high level of fitness.

Can some one tell me if you get taxed at all in the Army or is it something like the Navy, taxfree if you're on active duty away from home for six months. Really would appreciate a reply.

Well in the revision booklets I didn't revise for the RE TEST because it says in my booklet you might not take it unless you're applying as a "Navy artificer" but I won't give up I wasn't planning on giving up.
I just feeel disappointed and gutted..and thanks really made me feel better.
