Back on topic, the M14 was updated and eventually became the M16, which was more accurate in burst fire at a medium range and had a pivot point at the shoulder rather than part way along the weapon.

What i'm trying to say is that the M14 is only useful as a long range weapon.

Yep if you pass the POC you can go straight to RT. Reason being POC is harder than PRMC.

Well guys, after passing POC and AIB for the 2006 YO batch I received a letter from Gosport today. It went something like this: '....we regret to inform you...blah blah...but have you considered Commando Helicopter Force who work with the RM or any other comissioned branch etc.' Balls! Yeh thats exactly what i'm looking for. What i didn't realise before I got to the AIB was how relaxed the atmosphere is there. Soon after you've arrived on the first day you're expected to socialise as much as possible and they recommend (or even force) you to go to the pub to get to know each other...
