Currently in the process of rejoining. Wrapped RT due to financial problems. ( long story short - sale of my house fell through once I was at CTC, couldnt afford to stay as needed to go home and sort some strutural work on the gaff. Completed it, house has now sold, having to do PRMC again and hope...

I think the original post is well intentioned but I don't think nutrition is the key to the type of fitness you need at CTC - maybe for a competitive athlete. It's largely irrelevant - they key to the fitness you require is determination and pushing yourself beyond 'false' barriers. I think it best...

In Lympstone you eat as much as you possibly can at scran times doesnt really matter what it is. :D Too true many times I would be sitting down with a plate of pizza, chips, vegetables, gravy, salad, beans [and so on and so on...] all falling off the side of the plate. After a double phys session, ...

"Show me a 5k runner who eats crap and a non-active veggie and I know which one i'll pick to be fitter." There is absolutely no logic in that statement. Nutrition is key to fitness - without the adequate nutrition, your training regime will fall apart. I didn't say that if you eat right y...

Here we ago yet another home based MFAT lifestlye instructor. Nutrition isnt the key to fitness at all. Its a fairly important part but more important are consistency, understanding the law of diminishing returns, gradually increasing the amount and intensity of your workouts, flexibility, understan...

Running Man used to be a 3 day primarily navigation ex as you said on Woodbury Common. It's done with bergens as oppsed to daysacks though. Hang out, specially in scorching mid summer Devon.

No probs mate, you can and will do it, just I think youd find it a LOT easier if you lose a bit of weight first. Me and you are not in too dissimilar a position actually as I was heavily into PL when I decided I wanted to join. I was over 15stone (27.5 inch thighs!) at 5'8 but I lost a good 3 stone ...

Guns totally unrelated I know but your right. People answer questions on here without ever having set foot in Lympstone.

I can't believe how dead this place has gone it used to be full of Nods, YO's and Marines who popped in now and then.

Arite mate. Having been through Phase One of training myself (I wrapped lol, long story involving a girl) 16 stone at 5'10 is too heavy. Just being honest with you mate you must be built like a tank. There was a lad in my troop who at a guess must have been 5'10 and 15 but he did struggle a lot with...

Another good thing which I did before my PRMC, was try to mimic the two days, because its good to know what it feels like to be cracking two hard phys sesions a day for two days, and plus PRMC won't be as much of a shock for your body. Same here, good idea. You'll also get that all important mental...
