The camp across the road

I can only remember the camp across the road being called BP camp. Falaise Camp was the one further up the road past Silent Valley. The Tankies were across the road from us. Falaise was situated just before going onto the desert and Royal used to man the end of road post out there a bit of a grind o...

Bob it seems that everyone comes up with the same rank for this guy when he left the Corps and that is Sgt. I spoke to one of our Senior Citzen PTIs the other day who remembered him as Sgt in the Suez Zone, a flash git and a bit of a smoothie was a term also used used. As for his knighthood in relat...

The name Charlie Mather now rings a bell - I think he was was a PTI and in the Judo world was a big oppo of Major Duffy Dowton who served in DCGRM (1973) This Mather was the manager of a singer called Lovelace Watkins back then and he certainly did not have a Sir in his title.
