Re: Can i join the army?

Your best bet is going to be to speak to your local AFCO, I'm going to hazard a guess that none of us are all that hot on the eyesight standards!
Nothing to lose! If you're going in person though, dress smart...

Re: newbie UK & US

Claire, if you want to, come along and join www.britishforcessweethearts.co.uk - it's a forum specifically for women with an association with the Forces, I moderate over there too (in the name of Bluebird). I don't think we currently have any members with American partners, but we certainly used to....

Re: Rejoining after a medical discharge.

If I had seen this thread earlier I would have bee telling you to keep an exercise diary, sorry! There was a chap on my selection last week who had gone through Sandhurst and had knee problems, and they won't even let him attempt the fitness test for three months while he keeps a record of all his e...

Re: Wanting to join but..

They'll probably want you to have been healed for at least a certain amount of time before you apply, as there'd be a high risk of recurrence during training that would put you out of action for quite some time. Your best bet is to speak to your AFCO and find out what they suggest - much better to b...

Re: Med Discharged from Basic

I don't know about the other questions, but I got 2 stress fractures to my pelvis whilst in training - luckily mine weren't diagnosed until after I passed out from basic training with the RAF at Halton and went to Cranwell for Phase 2, but I was still out of training for a year whilst they healed, a...

Re: Future career – RN vs RAF

Donald - not so, Intelligence Officer is a very popular choice among applicants for the RAF, of 16 people attending a presentation at my local AFCO recently 12 were applying for IntO. This was just one AFCO, and there are only 24 places this year. (I know this because I'm after one of them). I've be...

Stop taking the creatine and protein for a few days before the next urine test, and don't do any exercise the day before or the day of.
