My friend Sully is 100% correct.
Don't decry yourselves. If you
aspire to earn the coveted 'Green
Beret' go for it. Once won you will
be just as good as your forebears
and carry on the fantastic traditions
of the Corps hopefully also adding
to the laurels.

Green Flag, The discipline is nothing like as severe as in my day. Modern youth would never accept what we put up with. Members of Parliament postbags would be full with complaints from mum on behalf of her 'Little Johnny.' Lympstone was a hutted camp. 24 men per hut bunked in double tiers. Individu...

Parades similar to my day reporting in different rig ad infinitum. If personal hygiene was involved the offender was instructed by the Squad/Trp. Sgt. to go to the water tank where his Squad/Trp. was duly assembled. Order 'strip off- jump in with carbolic soap in hand.' Section by section then, once ...

This weak, venal and squalid New Labour administration would never dare to be as blunt as the Australian Govt. who have made it quite clear that muslims who object to the Australian views on society should foxtrot oscar. I doubt that any British political party would dare to be so forthright. Many po...

No 'Brown Nose' pong that I notice Gents  Seriously and this is really important when you join you must get your personal admin squared away. This is what differentiates RM from Perce. Everything from kit to personal hygiene. It can't be emphasised too much and passing through CTCRM depends on ...

Mister Purple, Young jackanapes and impudent fellah. I did my own phyzz and my MOA Mr. Lanning, a retired Mne. was nearly 60. He was switched on and took great pride in the care of his Young Sir. I was amused at ITCRM now CTC when I was a recruit to observe a very plump YO being instructed by...

Again Australia leads the way in governance and ideas. Similar to their proposals on medals. If muslims do not want to recognize the law of the land they live in, then Government should pass laws in parliament to repatriate them to a Muslim country. They will no doubt feel more at home with Sharia l...

Tongue in cheek- 'because he knows which is best.'
That is why he joined. In fact it is not so strange and
quite a few do this and vice versa. The Paras are superb.
However in general Royal has many more skills to offer.

Week 6 and unfortunately a few have opted out already. They should be inspired by the young former Para who is in the Troop and already has one tour in Afghanistan under his belt. Interestingly he considers RM kit to be better. Good luck to the rest of 957 Troop. Show some moral fibre and com...

We were never affected by Woodbury Rash, circa 1950s'. I wonder when this affliction was first noticed. From what I have ascertained it is extremely unpleasant. Maybe we were tougher and it did not dare to invade our evil bodies. Perhaps it was our diet of WW2 rationing which gave us a metabol...

Gentle advice for recruits.

Most people, who subscribe to this forum,in my opinion place far too much emphasis on the physical side of CTC. Of course you have to be reasonably fit. However CTC will build you to the required standard. Even more important, I believe, is your own 'Personal Admin'. Without this self discipline you ...
