Re: Where's the Forum gone?
I hope not! This site has helped a countless amount of people pass out of training etc... It has been awful quiet as of late though, Not sure what can be done though. I am more than willing to donate more money to help the cause. I cant seem to find the mfat forums donation page anymore, if anyone w...

Re: Ziplock / Waterproofing / Aloksak
Sounds great, I'v had experience in the field in basic in the army (I left).. So I know the hassle of the plastic bags especially at night! Yeah at the early stages I’ll just use the plastic bags but I'll build up a collection of they canoe sacks over the weeks.. They look perfect for the job, shoul...

Re: Ziplock / Waterproofing / Aloksak
Ofens they bags you posted above look great.. Do you use them yourself? How much and what size would a recruit need for basic training? And will a recruit be allowed t use them? I cant see there being a problem as long as yor kits waterproofed surely? I used to hate using the old zip plastic bags! w...

Re: knee ligament damage
Cool good luck with the rehab. Make sure you do the exercises your physio gives you, no matter how silly they look! I've had to do all sorts of weird and "ministry of funny walks" type things over the years. Important though, they make a difference. Re: Cross trainer - at the risk of star...

Re: Medical Next Up!...but worried
Since this is in the rm forum Im guessing its a medical for the marines?.. Good news then. You wont get a blood test until you start training, they will however squeaze your balls and ask you to cough! Whats worse? Lol I was exactly the same as you mate, I used to hate needles! But after getti...

Re: What about sleeping?!
When I was in training we didn’t do guard duty, but we did get work parades or staff parades if we done something wrong. Staff parades were an inspection at the drill shed am 21:00 if I mind right, you had to be immaculate. Work parades are pretty self explanatory. Sportbilly we did still have 'swea...

Re: What about sleeping?!
I left when I was in training mate, Im planning on joining up again sometime this year. Lack of sleep isnt really a problem, remember its only that bad for the first 5 weeks, after that you get a little more freedom so I wouldnt worry about it. You'll be kept busy with other things so you wont notic...

Re: What about sleeping?!
Are you talking about basic training? When I was in you were lucky to get 5-6 hours sleep for the first 5 weeks. After 5 weeks you pass of the square and are able to go to breakfast etc by yourself instead of as a platoon. We used to get food from the shop the night before and skip scoff, that way w...
