a couple of books I enjoyed some years ago were: Chickenhawk and The Devils Guard.
They're a good read if you can get hold of them.
Cheers
Steve

Discharged Shore
Stix, my definition came from a recruitment officer .
However, it is worth highlighting that there are other uses for the term.

Re: Discharge SHORE?
Hi There, As you can see, I am new to the forum here. What is discharge SHORE? and what are the conditions? Many Thanks, Tom 'Discharge Shore' usually means Service No Longer Required (SNLR) & is usually a disciplinary category for discharge for those having completed recruit training for a ple...
I remember an oppo of mine who trapped a jenny at HMS Warrior. He acquired a single grot and let her inside. Meanwhile he headed back to his own grot to get some more ale. On the way he walked into a couple of the lads whom he shared some whiskey with. The extra alcohol topped him up and he literall...

Shot Down
Its amazing how your memory lapses after some nights on the lash. I remember walking down an isle in Boots Chemist in Guz when a blonde stunner came up to me. No joking she was stunning. 'Hi Steve,' she smiled. :D My eyes lit up when I saw her. She knew me, but I was thinking, who the ferk is this l...

New Green day Album
I personally am a strong Linkin Park and Green Day fan. I find their music great to train to and get a lot of inspiration from it. They give me more drive and determination and allow me to reach higher limits through the physical pain barrier. I've just bought the new Green day album and believe the...

Ultimate Goal
Stick in there mate: Before I joined the Corps, the Marines were my ultimate goal too. My childhood ambition. I wanted to be a marine more than anything else in the world. As I prepared, I had the mind set that I was going to make the grade, no matter what. Others around me, whom I grew up with, kep...
Beer Scam
Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink by any woman. Many females use a date-rape-drug on the market called ' Beer' . The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, or from tap...

Great Runs Ashore
I remember the first time I went ashore down Union Street. We were visiting from Pompey, whilst staying at whale Island (HMS Excellent) preparing to do a Royal Guard for the Queen in Poole. The first thing I recall was seeing a bootneck dressed up as a woman with a bowl of fruit on his head and then...

Re: Stuff
My first book "Amongst The Marines" caused quite a stir, but was based on fact. My second book, "Always A Marine", concludes my story. Thanx Steve Some one on this site once said to me in a PM: Truth and perseverance will shine through in the end, and gladly it did. Thank You. h...

I went to the Supermarket today and bought some goods. I gave the checkout operator a 20 pound note. She held it up and checked for the silver line in it. She gave me my change, a 10 pound note, a five pound note and a few coppers. I took them from her and held them up, checked the silver lines in t...
