Re: Public Sector Pensions.
Saw a good suggestion in the paper yesterday.Give all Public sector workers a 3% rise, then pass the administration of their pensions to the Unions to invest and fiddle with ,and see how well they do.Browns raid on the private pension schemes run by major companies in engineering etc, ruined the fines...

Re: conscription 50 years ago
I know nothing of the Army and RAF training of their intakes of National Servicemen, but in the Royal Marines they were trained to the same basic standard of us continuous service men, and were sent to Ships Company or Commando units as needed.Because of the long training period, most only served for ...

Re: Decompression
Rocky,I did twelve, the last two with 45 in the Middle East.My baby daughter was six months old when I left UK,two and a half when I came home, and she obviously didn't know me.I decided then that family came first, and came out to civvy street, but it took some time to be accepted by my daughter as her...

Re: Decompression
Wow,Maig has done 22 years,Rocky, and reckons you have no tours under your belt.Maig, there are not many of us olduns on here who served less than twelve to twenty two years plus, some served when a tour was 2 to 3 years, not six months,so wind yer neck in a bit.

Grand Harbour looks to be a very lonely place, glad that I have my memories of how it was in the 40s and 50s,when we had a Royal Navy, and the Med.Fleet alone was larger ,and more powerful, than the present,emasculated,set-up.

Re: Royal wedding hell. Invitation to a republican revolutio
Get rid,and replace with what? Some misbegotten political has been, such as the last two,who are also Republicans from over the border, but have not the guts to say so.I'm afraid your rabble rousing will fail to ignite the general public, who are quite happy with the status quo,and really pissed off w...

Re: Ex-services Staff Nurse Needed Urgently
As you will appreciate Dean,on sites such as this we get some very, very naughty people, who like to take advantage of the unwary. The Mods do their best to limit the damage, but the odd one still gets through.I've been around this site for some years now,so I probably am a little over protective.Good l...

Re: Ex-services Staff Nurse Needed Urgently
This sounds dodgey to me.Surely someone in your position would have access to nursing services, and not have to come onto a Military forum in search of the people you want.Your profile gives us no information on you,and I would advise people to be very careful in their answers.

Re: Themtic Icons of the Decade.
Another bullshite merchant, copies scads of pointless stuff of the net, posts it on here looking for a debate, and feels hurt when told to go away.Anonymous as usual,Beast,we really should have more info of these people before they are allowed to post.
