Whilst the government has nothing to do directly with the Shell drivers pay, I agree with the sentiment of Peter1034's post, and Hyperlithe's. The government can't be expected to pay Airmen / women drivers upwards of £30k a year because of the knock on effect this would have on others salaries and i...

Like Hyperlithe said, and also get down to WHSmiths or a decent book store get some verbal, numeric and spacial reasonning tests / books and have a look. If you aren't used to that style of test get your head around the question style now, prior to the test and you will go in 1 step ahead. Even if d...

At times the Armed Forces pay does equate to less than somebody performing the same task in civvy street. But comparatively you have o ask are both people doing the same job? Generally the answer is no. To use examples that have already been raised in this thread; as an MT you may get paid less than...

I think mate his is a question only you can answer. The armed forces isn't just a job its a lifestyle and at times, particularly in the current political climate, all other things must take a back seat to the career you have chosen. Speaking from experience it is best to go with what you want, not w...

T actical P rovost W ing mate. Ive got a friend on that as a copper. From what I can gather they get away more, to a more varied selection of location. They work with special forces and JSFSG, not solely these though. TPW are expected to be quickly mobilised to suit the needs there and then. I'll s...

Yeah, thats what I am thinking Hyperlithe. The only benefit I can see of going in as a cadet is just getting in sooner. But hey, it gives me an extra year of policing experience so that can onl be good.

I haven't applied yet mate. I am looking at Police Officer now, but when I apply is going to depend on work. I can go in as a student officer with 3 years civ police experience, or as an officer cadet ASAP. So really when I apply depends on work and money, which is a bit pants, but I have a mortgage...

I know what you mean Greenronnie. I was totally anti-fiction. Now the only fiction I read is Chris Ryan. Everything else is totally real life. Steve Preece was RM in the 80's / 90's if I remember rightly. He is from the North East. He is a forum member, goes by "ste preece" suprisingly eno...

Generally I don't like fiction. I was strictly an autobiography reader prior to reading some Chris Ryan books. I particularly enjoyed "Stand By, Stand By!" It left me chomping at the bit to find out what happened next. The Kremlin Device was a good read also I found. Have you read Steve Pr...
