Metro Hotel

you probably saw on tonights news about this hotel in, I think, Woking, refusing a squaddie a room because he is in the military.

I have provisionally booked a room.....but I might not be able to make it!!

I came out in 1994 after 32 years......was glad to be out at the end...just had enough, as they say

I now drive an armoured van 4 days a week.....beats working for a living I always say!!

Queens Lancashire Regiment (QLR's) - Queers, Lesbians & Rapists.

Not very PC in todays military but hey ho!

And if i was joining the infantry i was going to join them.

REME - Royal Engineers Made Easy

Excellent Regiment....was attached to them in Cyprus/England 1979/80

When I was on my way out of the gate....for the last time....I was asked to stay for another 12 months, and possibly more!.....all of my kit had been handed in too!

I am 17 and i start my training on sunday in the Paras.

It is definatly a young persons game, especially in the infantry, its just whether the young ones like myself can take the hardcore training...i am going to find out soon enough.

I was in the army cadets at 10, the army at 15 and left when I was 47 !!..

I like some of your nicknames......

The Army Catering Corps (ACC) (as it was then called) was the Aldershot Cement Company (Aldershot being their Depot)
Logistics....(RAOC) as was....Blanket Stackers
RMP....(Red Caps).....Blood Nuts
RAF Police (White Caps).....Snow Drops
