It may not compromise your position but if it is a white light, no matter how dim it will affect your night vision. The cones see in light and can distinguish colour and distance etc.
You can see in the dark with the rods which dont see colour, but give you a dull 1 dimensional view.

With a partner so you get the right rest in between sets,
EG
20 down to 1 press ups (staying in front support the whole time)
10 down to 1 pull ups

I dont really see your point.
With the new leave policy now in place you get even more long weekends.
If your not working Sat or Sun you get leave from Fri night through to Sun night.
Far from taking them away they are giving us more.
