You'd want to get your skates on, things start happening mid summer. I am from ROI also, contact Portadown AFCO. Good team up there, you'll have application form sent out by post, takes some time to fill out, soon as it arrives ring AFCO and book a BARB test that way you can fill out application ...

i remember a logistics lad at Bulford who was from Cork. I don't know all the ins and outs of how he got in or of his vetting.

I think the best thing you can do is get in touch with the recruiters.

Hmm I just put an unneccessary word on officer recruitment then, its referred to as cadetship in the Irish army, my bad:)

Joining the British Army... ROI National?

I am very much interested in joining the British Army (preferable a cadetship), and am living in the Republic of Ireland. Obviously, remaining living here I cannot join , for obvious reasons.
If I were to move to England, would I be eligable to apply for the army?
