Any fellow South Africans joining the RAF?
Im aware many South Africans go for the army, but thats probably for the passport! I have yet to meet any Saffas at my AFCO, just wondering if anyone on this forum has South African connections, and/or has been through the hell I have trying to qualify for the RAF!
If so get in touch!

Does anybody in US actually know the truth about military?
Now I know this has been posted all over the place before. But this specific example just made me laugh (in a kind of grin/laugh combination).
A female friend of mine is currently in USAF intelligence and was in US navy before that. I saw her recently and just in passing mentioned the occasion ...

Actually I can relate to your second point too. In SA we also have completely different school systems and the AFCO didnt have a clue what it converts to in UK terms so I had to do a bit of searching and found a university in the UK that had a method of converting my results so I had a better idea ...

Regarding your first point I am currently undergoing the application process myself for the RAF, not gunners but should be similar. I am South African (commonwealth) but with a British Passport and have had to wait three years to apply despite being part British. At first I questioned it as it seems ...
