Re: Joining the army

Are you sure the army is for you.

Drugs and military lifestyle do not mix.

I was piss tested on my recruit selection many moons ago. I am sure you will be, especially with the way drug misuse has increased over the years.

The army is doing very well on recruitment at the moment. What makes you ...

Re: Selection

that's it mate. Just turn up, bust a gut and pass the selection.

On the other question - I don't know for sure, mate. I don't want to say either way and get it wrong. I would think you would get to play with the LSW, just not sure.

Do you have any dates yet?

Re: Selection

depends what you want to do.

10 heaves is pretty good. The run time is decent too.

4 Para are looking for 9.30 2.4km. The Signals TA will give you 14 minutes to get round.

Like I say, depends what job you want to do

He wont be able to enlist until the whole thing is sorted out.

Just tell him to keep out of trouble in the mean time.

I hope everything goes well and he manages to get in.

i remember a logistics lad at Bulford who was from Cork. I don't know all the ins and outs of how he got in or of his vetting.

I think the best thing you can do is get in touch with the recruiters.

My vetting took longer than usual due to my parents being from the republic. I got in though and ...

I do treat myself to some "junk" at the weekend, but I am doing that much phys at the moment that i don't think it matters. When I was a regular, I used to eat and drink what I wanted, when I wanted. I just used to run up hills every day.

I think it is a case of seeing food as fuel for your ...

Unfortunately fitness and eating less are the only solution.

I would advise eating smaller meals more often. I eat 5 meals a day - 7am, 10am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm. I tend to eat small amounts of good stuff rather than going 5 or 6 hours between meals and stuffing myself. Avoid stodgey food at all costs ...
