Hey scanlon527,

The field you go around on the 3 miler is a half mile, so obviously you go around 6 times, but don't stop when you pass the final lap start/finish line, as the PTI keeps going for another 100 yards or so. You know to see the determination of potential TG's.

Good Luck.

I go in on 20 September, starting to get a bit nervous, but at the same time excited. Is that normal ?

It was a lot of hard work, the AFCO weren't really aware, or seemed not to be aware of what was really involved. (The small print was left out?)
Whatever happens, DO NOT QUIT during the skirmishes(beastings), 3 miler etc. The PTIs will try and get rid of as many as possible.
Keep your head down ...

Hey Gunner75,

I am a first timer, almost became one of those "I wish I had done that," statistic types, but luckily got off my...aw you know the rest.....

The more I think about it I think I could actually look forward to playing a mentor type role, should be a good experience. Hopefully. :o

Well done TC,
I do seem to remember the skirmish being "a bit of a bitch". On my course the situation was a very similar one to your own, and we only passed out with 14 from 44.
Good luck on the TG course.

Wholley, I have got to say Yes, although I would hazard a guess, and hope
that the tone and pitch will change somewhat!!!! If it does not, then something is seriously wrong with the selection process for the PTIs.
We shall find out soon enough!

Yeah, should be quite a picture, but like you just said, it's all about respect, and as they are the ones with the knowledge and experience, it will be head down and mouth shut, speak when spoken to, etc......

Thankfully not, in fact the Cpl was quite supportive (that was un expected, believe me).
Actually, when I think back to June, it wasn't till the last evening on the PGAC, but, what the hey. you take what you can get, where you can get it.

I am in the process of joining the RAF Reg, and I am 34, so I don't think you should be too worried, as the Cpl on my PGAC said, if you're good enough.....etc. Good luck.

Hey Goose,

I waited about 6 weeks from test and then medical and agin to PGAC, and believe me use the time well in regards to training, as it is tough (for obvious reasons). Good luck.
