I'll be frank,

although it says 5 A-C GCSE grade, you need pretty much need 11 A's.

And some science based subjects, possibly even a degree, and a very brod knowledge of current affairs,

I don't mean to deter you. I am just trying to make sure you know as many as the facts as possible.

PJFT, good in concept, I went through Halton August - October 2006 and i am glad they are introducing a PJFT as some of the injuries sustained at Halton are pretty nasty, and to have someone in a decent physical state before they arrive should prevent that.

I'm an ASOP, totally different to WSOP.

However, with my trade i have had some exposure to WSOp's SAR, in my opinion it's one of the branches i have most respect for, however, you have to be prepared to see some horrific things. I would NOT recommend aiming for SAR on your first tour of duty, that ...

I'll be honest,

From my experience i've only ever heard WSOp's referred to as "Plastic Sergeants" due to the fact they aren't seen to "earn" their rank in the same way people who go in as ground trades do.

However, you'll out-rank them so that won't matter.. haha.
