Re: July 27th

My PGAC is July 27th anyone on this one? The Sgt said to me there will be 40 of us on the selection and only space for 15 people, I'm assuming due to the credit crunch there's been a high influx of applicants. When I went for to 34 Squadron for the day I got level 13 on the bleeps test and did 60 ...

Hello mate, re: your last question I have been in the application process for RAF Regiment Gunner since last September, with no delays or hold-ups. I have been told over the phone that I am down as starting at Honnington in early August (still not had this in writing yet :x ), appreciate its a ...

Really sorry to hear you didnt pass this time mate, its shitty bad luck as it sounds like you prepared really well for it - that last 9 foot wall on the assault course is a c**t I did my shoulder in pulling myself over it the second time and it is still playing up, havent been able to do many ...

Cheers bud! I'm thinking of putting a detailled diary up when I get back going through each day. Might be useful for folk, especially as this will be the new style rougher tougher course (according to the flying rumours and hype, at least!)

Unless you have been told by your AFCO that the pass ...

10 days now lads, I'm itching to get cracking! Hoping it won't take too long after to get our TG dates through!

I rang the AFCO the other week to be told that I am down for the intake starting 8th August, so dont hold your breath, although if you are available to start at short notice you might ...

No mate, you will only have phys for the tests that you are informed of in advance -

* Bleep test
* Max press ups and situps in one minute
* Swim test - the pool at Honnington was shut for repairs so we didnt do ours, but it may be fixed by now so best be prepared for it
* Three mile run
* Low ...

Yeah, the Corporal in charge on our PGAC reckoned that the Reg had already filled most of its recruitment quota for the rest of the year. Like I say, still have'nt had my paperwork from Cranwell yet so in the dark about when I start.

Still waiting for my start date from Cranwell, there is an intake in late March/early April but that is already full unless there are last minute drop outs, other than that looking at August/September, which does my head in as I hate my job and also need to keep my phys up for the next six months ...

RAF Regiment PGAC advice

Hi folks just completed my PGAC at RAF Honnington a few weeks ago and for those that have theirs coming up it is worth making the point that the PGAC is now definately a selection course rather than an acclimatisation orientated visit for potential gunners as recruitment for the RAF Regiment is over ...
