Dont ask why i tried this, but i read up on the whole running without support, letting your feet free thing, tried out a few runs on grass, then a couple of sprints- in socks! anyway, it might work for a nine stone kenyan, but if your nearly twice that weight three words - feet-tendons-bugger...

mate im sure it will come, be patient, im the same, get p*ssed off if my run times dont come down every session, remember if youre training hard all the time the muscle fatigue might mask the advances being made in your leg speed, dont kick the a*rse out of the speed training, two sessions a week ma...

it might be worth doing some long runs, those that are an hour or more in duration, and sticking to a diet. the problem is shedding fat whilst not losing strength through muscle loss, its not easy, however, i think if you carry on with plenty of strength training(bodyweight) as well as endurance wor...

pull-ups- essential for the monkey bars- they give you the grip strength and forearm strength needed. With the reserves, i struggled on bottom field- esp on monkey bars and ropes until i really knuckled down onto the pull ups- i did ten sets of five twice a day for six weeks, but i ended up with DOM...

yeah i see what you mean with the football pitches, or parks or similar, to give yourself a benchmark time, going for 7 min miles over hilly cross country is hard, but i generally find hilly routes are best because they force you to change pace and make you sprint sections to catch up time lost on up...

Running P.Bs
Ive noticed a lot of people posting best times for runs, like six mile and three mile times. A lot of them look pretty damn good, and im happy that im getting seven minute miles for most of my runs, just one thing, do most people get their times from treadmills or from road running? I personally fin...

the info on the navy site isnt great. yes the tests are exactly the same, in the same order. i fact, the two week commando course has recently changed and i hear that it is even more busy than before. RMR recruits have to practice the tarzan assault and the assault course on timed runs just before t...

There has been a lot of stuff posted about this, try a search. The main difference is probably that from the start as an officer, you will be looked upon as someone who takes the lead and naturally assumes responsibilty. Officers MUST possess an ability to take the lead ( as well as working in a tea...

I agree JCAP, it shows how the liberal media twists the perceived situation to create a feeling of hopelessness amongst the british public. No doubt the situation out there is dire at times and all the deaths are tragic but personally i feel our media is totally f*****g useless when it comes to bein...

i found getting the boots wet is the best way to soften them, to be honest the boots you wear through rt will be knackered by your passout because they arent particulary good, good enough, but not great. you can buy your own after rt but not during, do make sure they are as well broken in before you...
