Probably not fella but just stating that BMI isn't to be taken too seriously. My BMI is probably just about right but there can be extreme circumstances.

BMI is a load of shite anyway, one of my best mates is 6'3" and 21st and I'll give anyone £100 in cash if you find an ounce of fat on him. Yet BMI would say he is "overweight" or even "obese" !!!

When I got my standard issue boots for PGAC I just wore them every other day, now I find them really comfortable and found it easier to run in when doing PGAC than other lads who had just got some at Barnham.

I had my BMI taken when applying for RAF Reg but never had anything said about it. I'm 6'2" and 16 stone...I was told I was on the borderline for entrants and recommended to get down to 15st which I did.

Hey Mr Man,
Bad news I'm afraid, I failed on the 3-miler, pulled out with cramp in my calf after about 2 and quarter miles. However, I have been asked to go back in September to "smash f@#k out of it" so I'm keeping myself optimistic because I passed everything else.

For those who have their PGAC's ...

Cheers Mr Man!
I'm off down tomorrow and after reading that have put self doubt into my mind!! Argh, wish I hadn't read it now, haha!

Hope all goes well on your next test bud!

Sorry, just re-read the thing about the assault course. Is there anything as demanding as that? Or is it basically ...

That would be great mate, just to brief over what (if anything) has changed from the criteria that we've been told already.

Are you lads going to Honington or Barnham??

Yea I'm struggling with this aswell, when I go for my run I feel like I'm alot fitter and striding alot easier, but still come in about 23 minutes which is annoying me. I've tried sprinting every 100m or so for about 20 yards, doesn't sound much but supposed to help.

I suppose in theory I've ...

Hey,

Got my PGAC dates through today finally...the 4th May...my inital reaction was "shit, thats 3 weeks away!" and recently I lost motivation for my training because I was told I could be on my PGAC within weeks after my medical...and that was about 2 months ago.

So yea, off I go, can't wait for ...

Mr_Man, I've just joined the Facebook Recruitment group, initials are TJ, would be good to keep in contact on any news regarding PGAC dates as we both seem to be in the same boat.

Alright cheers for that mate! Like I said I was just a bit unsure. I'd prefer to run as a group as it would be more motivation to keep up with them rather than everyone just sprinting off, as this is the only thing that I can see me failing on, but I'll be damned if I do!!

Been for my medical today ...

3 Miles...24 Minutes

Hi everyone,

New to the forum, so apologies if this topic is done to death!

However, having read through all of the fitness test information regarding the PGAC at Honington, I was a bit unsure as what a "Multi-staged fitness test" was? Is this just a clear 3 mile run? Or a start-stop kind of thing ...

Training partner in Middlesbrough??

Hi,

Currently about 3/4 weeks away from my PGAC, just passed my AST and interview and have my medical tomorrow morning which (touch wood...) shouldn't bring up any problems.

Looking for somebody to push out those miles with in the Middlesbrough/Teesside area as doing it by myself is boring the ...
