I recommend you join the Army Cadet Force, it isnt the army but the discipline is basically the same, and you'll be taught obedience and smartness also.
If you can last a year or 2 of the ACF then then army should'nt be a problem to you.

Im in ACF - (C-Coy) Yorks N+W - Harewood Detachment, i've been in about a year and so far its brill.
