Sad to see that the suggestion to have a quick chat with the Padre wasn't on the menu anywhere! Amazing how we can help in situations like this
Still - we often get forgotten (but not in November of course when everyone seems to wants us at a different place at the same time!)

I don't keep it a secret (after all I do services which are extremely public) but there is a difference between disclosure and the wonderful world of Walt! Share the fact in a matter of fact way and perhaps you will aid our recruiting campaign. Make it an everyday part of your life and you will be O...

As Police Chaplain I have found that there are quotas regarding joining the TA and they are also qualifications with some forces regarding the length of service required before joining. The best bet is to get the offer in place and then, before you sign anything, take it up the chain to your LPU Com...

I am doing the remembrance service in Brum today - Sd all pressed and shoes bulled to the CSMs standard at the factory (just hope my RSM thinks so!). A quick joke: a farmer rings the Vet and asks him for more of the fertility pills he prescribed for his bull. The Vet asks what they were called so he...

I have just spoken to Army Physio' and the good news is that next week I will be passed on to a kindly remedial PTI who will carry me around the PFT course and hold one end of the weights as I struggle to capture something like fitness! I like PTIs, they is always nice, encouraging and probably the ...

Sorry about the typo Harry - fat finger syndrome strikes again. Brian, there's one attestation and that's your lot. The good news is that if yoiu don't fancy church parade there's always the atheist option of painting stones and the like. Church parade is more about unit cohesion than God, according...

Thought I'd add this: There are also a few buddhists within the army now. The Gurkhas of course are mainly hindu but also contain an sprinkling of buddhist believers. The intersting thing is that buddhists joining the army have to see military action as a lesser evil in the fight against 'greater' e...

When Muslims join up they don't get given a Koran but there are provisions made for them to leave their place of duty for special events where an Imam (their holy man) has come to officiate. This happened for the only islamic member of my course at the factory last year as it was ramadan. For the re...
